Important Information for ex Web-at-Work Ltd clients

We’re very pleased to say that the transfer of web hosting from Web-at-Work Ltd is going very well so far but there are three important things that all Web-at-Work clients should be aware of:

1) Firstly, if you haven’t already signed up at http://www.simplewebhosting.co.uk/webatwork, DO SO NOW! We can’t do anything with your site until you’ve completed this. If you didn’t get the e-mail we sent you explaining what you need to do and why, you can view it at the end of this blog post.

2) IT IS ESSENTIAL that you contact WorldPay to cancel any Futurepay agreements you had in place with Web-at-Work Ltd immediately. Access the Shopper Management System here. Failure to do this will result in monies for your simplewebhosting.co.uk web hosting account being paid to Web-at-Work Ltd; payments that we won’t be able to honour.

3) Finally, we’ll be starting to move websites to simplewebhosting.co.uk servers this weekend. As mentioned in your welcome e-mail, you shouldn’t notice any difference but if you do come across any problems, please contact us.

Welcome e-mail

Hello and welcome to simplewebhosting.co.uk

As you will be aware, Web At Work Ltd is no longer trading but first let me re-assure you that there is absolutely nothing to worry about! But please read this e-mail fully to find out how you should move forward.

All Web At Works assets have been transferred to us and we’ll continue to host your domain name and/or website. The only difference being that you’ll renew with simplewebhosting.co.uk instead.

We will honour your current pricing for ALL future renewals (in fact, global domains such as .com and .net will actually renew at half their existing price!)

What do I need to do next?

This is the important part. For the vast majority of Web At Work customers, we have little or no contact information. We need you to create an account with us so that we can match up your services and avoid disruption when your domain name and/or website come up for renewal. Don’t worry though, like everything we do, it’s simple!

1) Visit www.simplewebhosting.co.uk/webatwork and choose your current Web At Work hosting plan. At Step 2, choose the second option (I want to transfer my domain to simplewebhosting.co.uk). If you’re asked for an EPP code, just type an ‘x’.

2) At Step 5, enter the promotional code webatwork – this will zero-value your order as you don’t need to pay anything today.

3) Finally, choose how you want to pay for your renewal when it becomes due. If you want to pay by Direct Debit, choose ‘Direct Debit Setup’ and follow the instructions. If you would like to pay using your credit or debit card, choose ‘My Details’ then ‘Change Credit Card Details’ and enter your card details.

4) When we receive your account information, we’ll match up your services and adjust your domain name and web hosting expiry dates accordingly. Then, when your renewal is due, we’ll contact you directly.

5) The following Friday evening, we’ll move your site from Web At Work’s old servers to a brand new simplewebhosting.co.uk server. In all but a very few cases, this process is seemless and, because the work takes place overnight, you probably won’t even notice the change – except for the fact your site will run quicker and be much more secure.
We would advise you to do this ASAP as in the coming months we will be decommissioning Web At Works’ servers.

Of course, if you come across any difficulties whatsoever, please call us FREE on 0800 619 1970.
Why is my web hosting account being moved to a new server?

The servers Web At Work were using were old, very old! Although they were powerful in their day and running appropriate software for the time, we believe they are no longer fit for purpose. Our brand new servers run the same (but updated) software that you’ll be familiar with (such as cPanel) and include Apache 2.2 and PHP5. If this doesn’t mean anything to you, don’t worry. It just means the servers are running the most secure, up-to-date software.
What’s so special about simplewebhosting.co.uk?

We’ve been working with the Internet since 1995 and have steadily built up our customer base to what it is now. We believe strongly in keeping our clients happy, no matter what. The part of our business we are most proud of is the number of new accounts that we create propecia prescription each month through word-of-mouth. Advertising on sites like Google or Yahoo is great; but you can’t beat real people telling real people how good we are!

We supply web hosting and domain name registration to the NHS (National Health Service) and HMRC (HM Revenue & Customs) as well as large worldwide companies, SMEs, non-profit making organisations and individuals.

Every time you get in touch you will speak to the same person. We always reply to e-mails quickly and thoroughly and, most important of all, politely.

Our main aim is to make things simple for you. Whether it’s when you call us asking for help or when you’re designing your own website using our Website Builder. Our technical staff each have at least 15 years experience in the industry and our web designers create hundreds of new sites each month.

Best of all, we offer freephone, UK-based telephone support!

This is the first I’ve heard that Web At Work have gone out of business!

I’ve completed the instructions as indicted but the following did state “At Step 5, enter the promotional code webatwork – this will zero-value your order as you don’t need to pay anything today”

This hasn’t happened and I’ve been invoiced and have paid £61.51 today, I did use the promo requested, is this a misunderstanding on my part?

    Regards Tony

    Invoice Number: 17655
    Total Due: £61.51 GBP
    Status: Paid

    Payment Method: Credit/Debit Card

I’ve just tried to do the same as Tony above and definitely see that I’m going to be billed for a new hosting with the domain being transferred.

I’m also a bit concerned about the renewal payment which I paid in August. Will this be honoured?

  6. Hi James,

Please double check you’re using the http://www.simplewebhosting.co.uk/webatwork link and the webatwork promotional code.

If you made a payment in August that hasn’t been actioned, please e-mail hello@simplewebhosting.co.uk with a copy of your receipt and we’ll be happy to honour your payment.

I only had a domain name registered with WebAtWork. Do I need to transfer this to Simplewebhosting or update nameservers?

  8. Hi Patrick,

No need to change your nameservers but you should follow the instructions above and choose the Web at Work Forwarding option.
