The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has announced today that it is upholding the super complaint submitted by Which? on unfair credit and debit card surcharges.

The super complaint, submitted in March 2011, called for the OFT to investigate excessive surcharges for paying by credit or debit card.

Today the OFT has responded to confirm they’re introducing enforcement measures, under the Consumer Protection Regulations, to take action against companies who are not transparent about their surcharges for paying by card.

Just a quick reminder to simplewebhosting.co.uk and simpledomainnames.co.uk customers paying for their web hosting and/or domain name renewals by Direct Debit that this Friday will be that last time you will be able to do so.

Once the last Direct Debit file has been sent to the bank on Friday morning we will automatically switch all Direct Debit customers to pay by credit or debit card. You should login to your client area at www.simplewebhosting.co.uk/secure to update your payment information.
