Today we experienced serious problems following an automated cPanel update that resulted in customers on two servers being unable to login and collect their mail. This turned out to be a difficult issue to diagnose and took several hours to identify and fix.
Mail service on server15 was resumed around 1pm and on server11 just before 4pm. We appreciate this is unacceptable.
Working with our server management company and with cPanel directly we have taken steps to ensure this doesn’t happen again when other servers update over the coming days (server updates are deliberately staggered to avoid wide scale issues like this).
